Our academy starts at 8.50am and pupils have six classroom lessons during the day. There is a morning break and a staggered lunchtime to ensure all pupils are able to eat in comfort and with friends from their year group. The day ends at 3.30pm when parents and carers can collect their children from designated doors.
*Please note the below is an outline of our typical day. The current pandemic means there are slight differences at the moment.
8.50am – Learning begins
Doors open from 8.40am and close at 8.50am, when our academy day begins.
10.30 – 10.45am – Break time
Pupils have a morning break. There is a large playground, multi-use games area, and a large field that allow children to get some fresh air, spend time with friends and develop through these interactions. All playtimes are supervised by staff.
12noon – 1pm – Lunchtime
Reception and key stage 1 children have their lunch from 12-12.30pm, at which time the key stage 2 children are playing outside. From 12.30-1pm this swaps around, with our key stage 2 children eating lunch whilst the key stage 1 and foundation pupils play outside.
Children can either bring a healthy packed lunch or choose from our academy meals – these are prepared on site and paid for in advance. We use a cashless system for payment of meals called ‘sQuid’ – details of this will be provided if your son/daughter is successful in applying for a place at the academy.
A wide range of playground games are played during lunchtimes, and our staff oversee these activities to ensure all children are safe and happy.
2.15 – 2.30pm – Afternoon break time
3.30pm – Academy day ends
Staff see out pupils at the end of the day, unless children are attending one of our wide range of after-school clubs.
