Early years foundation stage framework

Our nursery curriculum is based on the early years foundation stage statutory framework which sets standards for learning, development and the care of children from birth to five years old.

Through our play-based delivery of the early years framework, we aim to inspire a life-long love of learning in each child so that they feel happy, confident and ready for school.

Prime and specific areas of learning and development

We teach our nursery children the seven areas of learning and development through set topics every half term. These include communication and language; personal, social and emotional development; physical development; literacy; mathematics; understanding the world; and expressive arts and design.

Our half termly topics are a great way for children to grasp different concepts through playing, sharing, talking, doing and experimenting – there’s something to capture the imaginations and curiosities of everyone.

A more detailed plan of our nursery curriculum programme can be found in the curriculum by year group section of our website.
