This week our key stage 1 children have been getting involved in creative English and Science lessons to embed key learning, together with having lots of fun whilst doing it!

In a dark, dark classroom, there were some dark, dark puppets being made as children created puppets based on the characters in the brilliant children’s book ‘Funny Bones’. The activity formed part of their literacy lesson and together with making the characters, the children performed the story to the whole class.

We followed this up by getting our scientist heads on and going on a leaf hunt around the academy site. Pupils and staff enjoyed getting out in the fresh air and searching for different types of leaf, making sure they identified them and ticked them off their checklist.

A really enjoyable couple of lessons – well done to everyone for being engaged and involved.
