Key stage 2 children loved joining Gareth Baker for an interactive story telling session recently.
In the first part of the session, children spoke about where inspiration comes from and how personal experiences can influence imagination and writing.
For the second half of the session, Gareth told a story using ideas from the children. At each stage, when something new happened in the story, the children shared their ideas and then voted on their favourite option – Gareth then used this to continue the story. It was brilliant to see how engaged and enthusiastic everyone was and to hear the super ideas everyone was suggesting!
Children were encouraged to continue the story for themselves over the half term break.
