This term our Foundation 2 group have been working on developing their understanding of feelings and emotions and how to express these. After reading the amazing story of Rainbow Fish in class, our pupils recognised the emotions that the characters in the story were feeling. We spoke about these together as a whole class, talking about things that make us feel better when we are feeling sad or lonely.
We followed this up by painting our own Rainbow Fish using water colours, something totally new to foundation children! We explored mixing colours to create a rainbow effect with some amazing outcomes – the children were incredibly proud of their finished pictures which will now take pride of place on our gallery wall in class.
All the children were amazing, making great suggestions during this activity and all getting involved. Well done Foundation 2!
