If any of our pupils are at a loose end this half term and wondering about something to do, then why not consider writing a story for BBC Radio 2’s ‘500 Words’ competition?

The competition is open to children from 5-13 years old. All entrants must pen an original story, no more than 500 words in length, and submit it online. It can be about anything you want – space-ships, grannies, insects, microwaves. The list is endless!

This is a great way to showcase your writing and creative talents – we know there are some brilliant imaginative minds amongst our children, so we hope you’re inspired to get involved.
