Year 1 and year 2 pupils had a fantastic off-curriculum day with a special theme – A Day on Safari! This exciting event was designed to bring our literacy topics to life in a fun and engaging way.

Children were invited to come dressed as Safari explorers or animals, and we were delighted to see so many creative outfits. Throughout the day, they took part in a range of hands-on activities, making learning an exciting adventure.

Some of the highlights of the day included:

  • Crafting binoculars – essential for any budding explorer!
  • An animal track scavenger hunt – learning about different footprints and tracking skills.
  • Exploring a safari map – using directions and positional language.
  • Meeting a very special friend – Duke the horsfield tortoise.
  • Creative writing about lions – producing some truly magnificent sentences.

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, creativity, and plenty of smiles. Thank you to all parents and carers for supporting this event – we loved seeing the children immerse themselves in the safari theme.
