Just before the Easter break, Olive Class had a very special outing – a lovely walk to Clipstone Care Home to meet the residents and spend some quality time together. This wonderful visit followed a visit to our classroom from Alison and Anna, two friendly staff members from the care home, who spoke to the children about their roles and shared why they’re so passionate about the work they do.
The afternoon at the care home was truly heartwarming. The children enjoyed singing, reading stories, and having some brilliant chats with the residents. It was a joy to see connections forming between the generations, with smiles all round.
We’re thrilled to share that this is just the beginning – regular visits will continue after the Easter break, and we’re especially looking forward to spending time in the care home’s beautiful garden when the weather warms up.
The team at Clipstone Care Home have passed on a big thank you to the children of Samuel Barlow Primary Academy – they said the visit brought so much joy and really brightened the residents’ day.
